Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #151- Thank You
For my card I started by cutting the butterfly frame using my Silhouette and a cutting file from the Silhouette Store. I cut the frame from thick white card and used some 'Dusty Concorde', 'Stormy Sky' and 'Bungled Sage' Distress inks over the frame. I then added some DoCrafts Artiste 'Crackle Medium' and White Acrylic paint to create a crackle effect. I then added some Artiste 'Glitter Glaze' by DoCrafts.
The background was made by using the same colours of Distress Inks over another piece of white card. I then applied a coat of White Acrylic paint through the 'Flourish' stencil by Tim Holtz. I then watered down some more of the Acrylic White paint and painted it over the entire background paper to mute the colours slightly and used some gold gilding wax on the edges.
To accent centre of the butterfly frame I painted some paper roses with the White Acrylic and added some Distress Ink to the edges of the petals. The leaves were cut from a Crafts- Too die and coloured with some 'Bundled Sage' ink. I also added a torn strip of the backing paper and some lace. The sentiment and butterflies were stamped with Versamark onto Acetate and embossed with Ranger 'Queens Gold' embossing powder. I finished the card by adding some Aurora Borealis effect sequins.
I hope you like my card and please check out my fellow DT's blogs as they have made some wonderful projects. Thanks for taking the time to stop by.
