Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #147- Flower Embellishments
Hi, today sees the start of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and more. Julie is hosting this challenge and she would like to see your creations with dimensional flowers, either handmade or bought, but no flower images.
For my card I decided to make some Hibiscus flowers to go with the Craftwork Cards 'Paradise' paper collection. The Hibiscus flowers were cut form some bright pink, orange and cream card in three different sizes using the 'Floral- STL039' cutting die by Pinflair. When cut, I sprayed the card with some Pearl Mica Spray to add some shimmer and soften the paper so that I could mould it into the flower shapes, then left to dry. I edged the petals with 'Walnut Stain' Distress Ink and then glued together with hot glue. I added some pearl flower embellishments to the centres of the two largest sizes of the flowers and some Mica beads to the middle of the smallest flowers. I also added some gems on stick to the flower centres and around the floral arrangements.
I stamped some postmarks to the ink background paper, before embossing with the 'Trellis' folder by Couture Creations and highlighted with gold gilding wax. The sentiment tag came with the paper collection and had been edged with 'Walnut Stain'. The large butterfly is a chipboard cut out, which I have heat embossed with Ranger's 'Queens Gold' powder. I finished the card with some small butterflies, which I cut out from the backing paper and added clear Wink of Stella and Glossy Accents.
I hope you like the card I have made for this fortnight's challenge, and I hope you decide to play along. Please check out my fellow DT's blogs and check out their beautiful cards.
