Crafty Cardmakers Christmas Challenge
Hello, today sees the start of the new challenge at Crafty Cardmakers and More and the theme this time around is Christmas. For this challenge we are being sponsored by Sir Stampalot and fellow CCM DT member Kim Reygate is giving away a bag of crafty goodies.
For my card I have had a go at making some faux wood effect paper with various colours of Distress Inks, 'Autumn Bronze' and 'Pearl Moon' Gilding Wax by Creative Expressions and a Brown Spectrum Noir Pen. I then stamped the Reindeer image which is from Personal Impressions in Black Archival Ink. When the ink was dry I added some slight colour and shading with Copic markers and a white gel pen. The damask background paper was made using Distress Inks, Pearl spray and the 'Cultivated' Embossing folder by Couture Creations, along with some more of the Gilding waxes. I used a die from Crafts- Too to cut the aperture and layered onto red card stock. The sentiment stamp was free with a craft magazine and was cut out with a label die, also from Crafts- Too. The foliage is a Marianne Designs Die and the flowers are a Tonic Punch. I finished the card with a bow made with red and gold organza ribbon, some pearls and glitter. The card is 6 1/2 x 61/2 inches.
I hope you like my inspiration for this challenge, and please take the time to visit my fellow design team members blogs as they have created some amazing cards. Thanks for stopping by.
Sally.

ReplyDeleteStunningly fantastic!! I thought it was wood when I first looked at your card and the image was pyrography. I can't believe how you made it so real looking. Just a really brilliant card design. You should make tutorial videos for your creations, I'd definitely buy one. Debra x
ReplyDeleteSally, this is just stunning! I LOVE the faux wood slats, and the image looks amazing inside the die cut frame! Great DT inspiration piece! :)
