Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #180- New Beginnings

Hello, today sees the start of the first challenge of at the year over at Crafty Cardmakers. But first I would like to welcome our new DT members, Jac, June, Margaret, Peggy and Chanya13, Jac is hosting this challenge and this fortnight's theme is 'New Beginnings'.

For my card I decided to make a card to celebrate the arrival of a New Baby. I started by die cutting a circle into a piece of water colour card and creating a background with some Cerulean BlueCotman watercolour paint.

I then stamped the branches which are from Hobby Art's Bird Song stamp set with 'London Fog' Memento Ink. I then stamped a feather from the 'Feather's' Stamp set, also from Hobby Art in the same Ink.

I used Spectrum Noir Aqua Markers to paint the background and added some white gel pen dots and highlights. I also added some drops of Glossy Accents, which I sprinkled with clear Glitter.

I made another background and this time stamped the branches and the chicks in the nest stamp, which is from Hobby Art's 'Spring Has Sprung' stamp set. I also used the Spectrum Noir markers to paint these and also added the highlights and glitter in the same way.

I layered the frame using two thicknesses of foam tape for extra dimension and added a hand written sentiment that I finished off with a few of the blossom stamps from the Bird Song stamp set.

I hope you like my card and please check out my fellow DT's blogs as they have made some gorgeous cards.

 Thanks for visiting.

  1. This is beautiful Sally! Wonderfully stamped and coloured background for the very cute baby birds. Your handwriting is really lovely and neat, it looks stamped or computer generated. Is there anything you can't do :) ? Debra x
