Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #166- For A Special Man

Hello, today sees the start of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers. Julie is hosting this challenge and she would like to see your cards made with a Special Man in mind.

For my card I decided to use the 'Mr Smith's Workshop' stamp set that came free with Issue 70 of the Docrafts Creativity magazine and the matching paper pack.

I started by making a flip card with a Crafts- Too die and black card stock. I then used some of the different papers from the pack to decorate the card base.

I then used some Cheery-Lynn dies to cut a selection of cogs, which I embossed with Silver, Gold, Copper and Verdigris embossing powders. I used these to edge and embellish around the card.

I used some black and gold metallic thread to attach the silver spanner charm. The Hammer, Spanner and Saw were drawn using the 'Tool' stencil from that Special touch and coloured with Twinkling H2O's.

The plaque, borders and DAD were embossed with Queens Gold embossing powder from Ranger and also painted with the H2O's. The Number text in the centre of the plaque was cut from one of the patterned paper sheets and the 1 was cut and embossed with the embossing powders.

I added some screw shaped brads and rhinestones to finish.

I hope you like my card an please check out my fellow DT's blogs as they have made some fabulous projects. Thanks for taking the time to visit.
