Crafty Cardmakers Challenge #148- Make It Sparkle

Hello, today sees the start of the new challenge over at Crafty Cardmakers and more, but first I would like to welcome the new Design Team members Ina, Maike, Jenn,Nessa and Pam to the team. I am hosting this challenge and would like to see you 'Make It Sparkle', so this means another excuse to get out those glitters, gems, pearls, mica powders or other products that add glimmer and shimmer to your work.

For my card, given the theme of this challenge, I decided to make a start on my Christmas cards. The image I have used is called 'The Most Adorable Snowmen' digi stamp from The Paper Shelter, which I printed out onto lightweight white card stock. I then coloured the image with Spectrum Noir Blendable Pencils, paper stumps and Gamsol. I used the White Zig Woodcraft marker to add white highlights and the Clear Wink of Stella to add shimmer to the snowmen.
The background was made by using Cut n Dry Foam to apply 'Weathered Wood', 'Broken China' and 'Stormy Sky' Distress Inks. I then sprayed some Pearl Perfect Pearl Spray over the top and dried with my heat tool. I then stamped some Snowflakes by Hobby Art with the 'Weathered Wood' Ink to create a frame. I painted some White Acrylic paint along the bottom of the card where I wanted my snow to be and splattered some more White paint across the whole of my background, while this was wet I covered the paint with Fine iridescent glitter. I then attached the snowmen, which I cut out, with 3D Foam to the base. I then used my finger to apply some homemade texture paste around the snowmen for the snowy ground and added some Chunky iridescent glitter. I also went over the dried texture paste with the Clear Wink of Stella to add more shimmer.
I finished my card by stamping some more snowflake onto Acetate with Versamark and embossing with White Detail Powder. I also added some glitter and a sequin before cutting them out. I added an organza bow and the sentiment if also from the Hobby Art Snowflake stamp set.

I hope you like my inspiration for this fortnights theme and please check out my fellow DT's blogs as they have made some gorgeous projects.
Thanks for stopping by.
